Our Story

Charleston Place

When it was built in 1986, The Charleston Place answered a call to be part of a larger, audacious vision for the city of Charleston — a catalyst for its revival and resurgence as a world class travel destination.

A Historic Hotel in Charleston

Designed to complement Charleston’s historic architecture, the hotel breathed new life into the city. Together with its restaurants, cocktail lounge, spa, and retail shops, The Charleston Place created jobs and won the hearts of locals, vacationers, corporate travelers, meeting planners, and wedding planners alike.

It’s a legacy we’re grateful to inherit.

Now, as stewards of its stories, we are called to write our own. We believe that hospitality is a transformative art — that this “place” can do more than inspire and nurture its guests, team, and partners. It can inspire an entire city, country, and world.

Use the handy map below to learn about a few of our favorite places and spaces and plan your own adventure.
